MICE 106: Events Design

COURSE DESCRIPTION

This course deals with the fundamentals of event design, beginning with the process of identifying client needs and preferences, researching design options, and selecting design elements that match the event's goals and objectives. It introduces the attendees to the design phase of the event management process using internal and external team members.

COURSE OUTCOMES:

At the end of the two-day training, the participants should be able to:

1. Conceptualize and design program components, content, and formats.
2. Determine requirements for speakers and performers and develop selection criteria.
3. Determine food and beverage requirements, appropriate menu and service styles, and providers.
4. Establish and select appropriate set-ups, decor, furnishings, and signage.
5. Apply the staging and technical requirements for the event and develop the RFP for suppliers.
6. Oversee a technical production for the event.
7. Create an admission and credentialing system, use crowd management techniques, coordinate accommodations, and create a transportation plan.
8. Analyze protocol and ceremony requirements.
